Overview

The M8 Light Armoured Car, nicknamed the ‘Greyhound’ for its high top speed, was a vital 6×6 reconnaissance vehicle for U.S. forces during World War II. Its combination of speed, a 37mm cannon in an open-topped turret, and all-wheel drive made it an effective scout and screening vehicle, serving in every theatre from its introduction in 1943 to the end of the war.
