Basic Shirt – Small Check Cotton Poplin Stone/Khaki

A classic silhouette, refined and improved with details which elevate it past utilitarian roots. If you had one sentence to surmise Margaret Howell’s design approach, that would be a good start.

As the name suggests, the design of this shirt is relatively basic. That said, such a simple name under-sells the fit and finish. The main point of attention is the Japanese cotton check which the shirt is constructed from—a smooth and soft hand feel makes every time you slip this on an event in-itself. The classic curved hem, combined with a patch pocket and regular collar make no attempts to hide the utilitarian roots of this shirt, instead they celebrate it.
