Dysport® 500iu Dual Vial Botulinum Toxin

Dysport is a medicine that contains the active ingredient Clostridium botulinum type A toxin-haemagglutinin complex indicated for severe primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae, which does not respond to topical treatment with antiperspirants or antihidrotics. However, it is not licensed in the UK for aesthetic use, and as such the prescriber takes full responsibility for prescribing the medicine and for overseeing the patient’s care, monitoring, and any follow-up treatment. For use in adults only.

• Underarms in the treatment of hyperhidrosis

Mode of action:

As with other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins, it relaxes and limits the movement of muscles around the injection site.

Contraindications:

• Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
• Generalised disorders of muscle activity (e.g. myasthenia gravis, Lambert- Eaton syndrome) (as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).
• Infection or inflammation at the proposed injection site (As per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).
