The RS232/RS485 CAN Board is an industrial communication expansion board for the Raspberry Pi 4B and Raspberry Pi 5 that has multiple communication connections: 2x RS485, 1x RS232, 1x CAN FD, and 1x CAN. Each connection is electrically isolated, providing secure communication for industrial areas. The board includes protections like lightning resistance and anti-electrostatic, making it handy for trickier conditions.
Coming in an industrial rail-mount case, it makes installation a piece of cake and it is used in control systems. The case provides decent space to stack other HATs or expansion boards, and it includes reserved space for a PCIe adapter board for the Raspberry Pi 5, giving flexibility for future upgrades and expansions.
Features
- Based on Raspberry Pi 40-Pin GPIO header, suitable for Raspberry Pi 4B and Raspberry Pi 5
- SC16IS752 and SP485 combination scheme, expands SPI to 2x RS485 interface
- MCP2515 and SN65HVD230 combination scheme, expands SPI to 1x CAN interface
- MCP2518FD and MCP2562FD combination scheme, expands SPI to 1x CAN FD interface
- Raspberry UART and SP3232EEN combination scheme, expands UART to 1x RS232 interface
- TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor), effectively suppress surge voltage and transient spike voltage in the circuit, lightning proof & ESD protection
- Self-recovery fuse and protection diodes, provide current/voltage stable outputs, over-current/over-voltage proof and improve shockproof performance
- Unibody power supply isolation, needs no extra power supply for the isolated terminal, provides stable current/voltage outputs of RS232, RS485, CAN, and CAN FD interfaces, and improves the anti-interference and anti-shock performance
- Digital isolation chip for safer signal isolation communication and better stability and anti-interference performance
- External power supply screw terminal for 7~36V wide voltage power input, combines with Pi5 Connector Adapter (B) to power the Raspberry Pi and the expansion board at the same time
- 120Ω terminal resistor, configured by jumper
- Reserved interrupt resistor pad for flexible switching the interrupt pin if there is pin conflict when working with other HATs
- Comes with online development resources and manual (examples for Raspberry Pi Python/C)
