WHARFEDALE LINTON 85TH ANNIVERSARY
Wharfedale’s Linton Heritage 85th Anniversary are 3-way standmount loudspeakers featuring an 8” (200mm) woven Kevlar® bass driver, 5” (135mm) Kevlar® midrange driver, and 1” (25mm) soft dome tweeter. Combining a wide baffle design, advanced cabinet construction, and precision-engineered crossovers, Linton Heritage 85 delivers rich, natural sound with exceptional clarity. With speaker dimensions of 565 x 300 x 330mm, Linton 85 is ideal for medium to large listening spaces, offering a timeless design that suits any setting.

ECHOES OF EXCELLENCE
Heritage audio shouldn’t lock you in the past; it should create both an affinity with music’s most iconic era and a listening experience that’s conducive to the modern age. Linton 85 Heritage does just that. As Wharfedale’s highest selling loudspeaker of all time, the modern Linton weaves together timeless design and contemporary technology to deliver a listening experience par excellence. Because a truly exceptional listening experience isn’t just heard; it’s felt. Just as it was in the 60s and the way it still should be.
AN UNSHAKEABLE TRUTH
When unwanted cabinet vibrations exaggerate or mask certain frequencies, they obscure the honest reproduction of your favourite music and movies. That’s why the Linton 85 cabinets feature a multi-layer sandwich construction of different woods (bonded by a layer of damping glue) designed to reduce panel resonance to below audibility. With cabinet colouration silenced, what remains are drivers free to perform with unshakable precision, revealing a new level of previously unexplored truth.
CRAFT MEETS CLASS
Linton Heritage 85 exemplifies Wharfedale’s mastery of timeless design and craftsmanship. Hand-veneered in stunning true-timber Walnut, Mahogany, or Black Oak finishes, paired with traditional jersey-knit grilles and available with matching stands to display your favourite 12” vinyl records, every detail is a tribute to the artistry of its golden age. Crafted for music and movie lovers with a timeless taste, Linton 85 is a loudspeaker your friends and family won’t help but drool over, and they’ll never believe what you paid.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Modern slim speakers suffer from baffle step, an audible thinning in the upper midrange that leaves vocals and stringed instruments sounding hollow and nasal. Linton 85’s classic big-box design, combining a broader baffle with larger-than-normal bass and midrange units, intuitively counters these issues to preserve the natural warmth, body, and impact of this all-important frequency band. The result is rich, resonant vocals and string tones that capture the authenticity of truly immersive performances.
REDEFINED NOT REPLICATED
Linton 85’s vintage-inspired design very cleverly conceals a wealth of cutting-edge tech. Woven Kevlar replaces traditional cone materials for enhanced bass and midrange clarity, while computer-optimized crossovers ensure seamless transitions across frequencies. Reflex-loaded twin rear ports deliver deeper, more controlled bass, and its woven textile soft-dome tweeter with high-flux ferrite magnet produces smooth, extended highs. Linton 85th may look like a 70s classic, but it’s fully equipped to handle the demands of today’s contemporary music and movies.

GRILLES ON GAME ON
Linton 85’s slimmer chassis profile is the clever combination of bevelled cabinet edges with inset speaker grilles. The asymmetrical cutouts within these grilles mitigate unwanted cabinet-edge reflections known as refraction. Refraction causes frequency irregularities, distortion, and time spearing – all issues associated with traditional big-box loudspeakers. So, Linton’s inset jersey-knit speaker grilles not only create a more modern visual profile; they also improve sound quality. Sure, you can play with exposed Linton 85th woofers. But to cook up the best musical results, you’ll want to play grilles on.
A GENTLE GIANT
Linton 85’s physical footprint is somewhat deceiving. While some big three-way loudspeaker demand mountains of power to come alive, pushing you into expensive upgrades, Linton 85’s 90dB sensitivity and recommended power range of just 25-200W makes it incredibly efficient. Specifically engineered with Kevlar drivers and high-flux magnets to increase its low-power performance, Linton 85th delivers big no matter the amp you pair it with, giving you vibrant, room-filling sound without pushing your system – or your budget – to breaking point.
STANDING ROOM ONLY
Not only do Linton 85’s custom-engineered stands place your new favourite speaker on a pedestal, they’re specifically designed to finely tune your listening sessions. With matching wood veneer finishes, precision manufacturing, and critical damping to eliminate unwanted vibrations, they deliver stability for optimum performance. And with built-in storage designed to hold 30 or more of your favourite 12” vinyl records, Linton 85’s stands don’t just support your speakers—they help celebrate your passion for music.
THREE WAY DESIGN
Linton 85’s three-way standmount design delivers the power of three. Its 8” (200mm) woven Kevlar® bass driver offers rich, controlled low-end performance, while the 5” (135mm) midrange driver, housed in its own internal enclosure, ensures clean, natural vocals and instruments. And to cap it all off is a 1” (25mm) woven textile soft-dome tweeter for smooth, detailed highs. By separating drivers, Linton 85 better handles higher volume listening and improves both detail and dynamics, for a more immersive, room-filling listening experience.
